What is Iron Ore ?
Accounting for nearly 95% of all volumes mined on earth, iron ore is by far the most mined mineral on the planet. Used in steelmaking, iron ore is crucial to the energy transition as steel is used in every technology which reduce GHG emissions, including hydro, wind, solar and electric vehicles. While the steel industry accounts for nearly 8% of global emissions, a shift to make green steel is essential. The Bloom Lake mine is a world leader in the green steel supply chain due to its high-purity products and its low emissions intensity of its operations.
